What may be mundane to us is always exciting for the kids.
Here's our two youngest digging potatoes, they had a challenge to see who could find the most.
Kiedis found two huge ones!
Stryder getting right into it, he is so good at this! And it never hurts his back like it does for us older folk.
This is what the patch looks like now that they've dug out all the taters...
I planted green beans there right away to get one last crop off for the summer.

I couldn't ask for a better life, or better helpers in the garden. The children bring so much joy to tasks that we would consider boring and tiresome. Kiedis did end up "winning" the challenge, however, by the end of the potato digging, both boys had completely forgotten it was even a challenge to see who would collect more, they were just that into it!

They are too cute! I love the picture where Kiedis is holding what looks like two chocolate cookies but they're actually potatoes, and he's just as happy.

Absolutely yummy - I also love eating jarred tomato sauce from the garden in the middle of the winter - jarred sunshine!!

Aw, we're getting there slowly, we're still a big part of the grid unfortunately but unplugging does take a bit of money to get there...
