I think I would try @amd64 suggestion and run without the battery if that works. Sounds like you might need a new hard drive too if that is noisy. If it is just fan noise that could be fixed with a little lubrication. Maybe hard drive issues is causing the blue screen problem but there could be other factors.

I remember those old days where every new generation of computer really made a difference. Maybe we will see something like that when quantum computing takes off. We could be headed towards a bump up in AI. !trdo
