I think we are in for a sh*tshow of epic proportions within the next decade. As for a government shutdown, certain things start to get very interesting February 1. If the shutdown continues past this point without some magic solution to fund welfare recipients, then you can add all those EBT card malfunctions to the burgeoning yellow vest movement in the US. It's already threatening to explode through Europe this spring. Last time they had a malfunction, it didn't go so well...
So just as Trump is set to be impeached (don't think that's really likely IMO), suddenly it will have to be dropped (the same way Bush 43 was saved by 911) because congress will have to come together to save their collective asses. Much depends upon the timing of course, but this is just one scenario I can see playing out off the top of my head.
Waiting for "les jilets jaunes" to put bank run and crypto together...
