Teaching ESL in Mainland China vs Taiwan

in dtube •  2 months ago

Nick and I have both been teaching in our respective areas close to 5 years. During my trip to Taiwan, I visited Nick in the Taiwanese city of Kaohsiung (高雄)because he was kind enough to let me stay in his place. We had a lot of fun and we decided to make a video comparing the living and working conditions between Mainland China and Taiwan.

Maybe there will be ONE person on here that will give a fuck. A big shout out to whoever that is on here lol.

Very interesting video.

I did English teaching in various places some years back. I never considered China though.

How easy is it to get jobs there? Any preference there between US teachers and British teachers?

It is very easy to get a job teaching english in china as long as you are a native english speaker with a university degree in an english speaking country.

There is a slight preference for american teachers in some places overall but it isnt significant. Everyone is generally equal except for maybe south africans.
