N I H O T U P U ! Playing with motion - The lips & curves of the Waitakere Ranges
Playing with footage of the Nihotupu dam. This dam is in the Waitakere ranges in Auckland, NZ. The Waitakeres currently have a rahui (ban) on hiking in the forest. Sadly our native Kauri tree has a disease and the forest is closed for healing. There are some tracks still open but you must scrub your shoes and stay on the track to preserve our beautiful native eco system.
You could head to Arataki visitors centre to find out which tracks are open.
Nihotupu is one of my favorite spots and i finally got my camera out while sitting there in awe of her beauty.

Gorgeous pictures of Nihotupu dam, still have some pictures from Arataki visitors centre of Nihotupu dam and Arataki, and many places around New Zealand still to post after getting them from the camera, yours turnt out gorgeous, looking forward to what other pictures you have.
Just realized the top picture was actually a video, didn't get to see the dam over filling like that when we saw it, the video just stuck at 1.05 so amazing the water falling and sparkling. What time of day did you?
Thank you. It's so pretty out here. It was about 2:30pm, I actually just pulled in to turn around but after getting there I had to stop and get out. I looove it when it's overflowing!
