They told you feed the ancestors
You put the fruit in your mouth,
Sweet and wicked.
Not on the bowl, pristine and unbitten.
And you wonder
How can my ancestors taste it if I do not taste it?
Their disapproving kindness is frustrating

Child,
They told you feed the ancestors
You put the sweet soda in the cup,
Left it untouched overnight like you should.
But the morning came and you sipped it,
Sweet and wicked.
It’s flat but tangy and good.
And you wonder
How can my ancestors taste it if I do not taste it?
But there’s shame around you now

Child,
They told you feed the ancestors.
And your belly want the food.
And your lips want the drink.
And their eyes says no.
But your body knows yes.
Cause child,
You.
You are the answer.
To all their prayers.
And Child,
You.
Repay them by tasting the wicked sweet
With their name on your lips.

Hello everyone! I wanted to share this poem today, but instead of an image I did a little reading for you!

This poem was written on the topic of body wisdom and how we can intuitively know things even if conventional knowledge isn't there.
