OVERLY DEPENDABILITY ON THE DAPPS; HOW CAN THIS HARM THE PASSION FOR STEEM?
So many people are overly dependent on the dapps to earn and if the dapps fail to vote their contents, they develop a certain kind of negative crowdsource that may even make prospective users have that particular DAPP, which in my opinion seems really wrong, the truth is that nobody I repeat nobody is entailed to the DAPP votes 100% no matter how quality or how popular or how many comments they get on their post, because giving a certain kind of people 100% entitlement to 100% vote makes the dapps oligarch in nature and this begs the question I definitely asked in this comment, do people's ability to vlog wane if dtube embraces another kind of voting system? What is the plan B if this is so? Is this a prospective danger for steem in general?

Great vlog Jose 🙂
The problem is that there are some users of dtube who do get the vote every day 100% of the time and the content is nothing special. Maybe they're saying the right things, or part of the right community, or just have got the attention of a dtube curator who put them on autovote. I don't really want to speculate too much on it as I don't want to be negative. But...
To bring this into a wider context. It is extremely detrimental to steem as there is no consistency based on the one thing that should be consistently rewarded, quality! @curie don't really reward video content a huge amount, which means the oligarchy you mentioned in your comment can run riot. Ha ha, I'm done with getting bothered about these things, i recently made a vlog about acceptance Vs expectations and it kinda goes into how I remove those frustrations from my mind, but none of that takes away from the fact that a new user coming into the steem ecosystem will see how some of the dapps reward people not based on quality, and be either confused, angry or both.
I've spoken to many people about this problem and most of them say these types of things:
'new people should just be happy that they are earning.' 'what other social site pays for likes'? Etc
Most of those people who show that sentiment have found strong support from the group/community that they've networked with. Everyone who's been on steem for any amount of time understands that it is networking that builds your account and subsequently post payouts beyond the dapps. Maybe this should be the steem strapline.
steem rewarding community interactionThat would at least be more accurate than saying rewarding good content, although the likes of curie, OCD and others do make sure that some good content gets those rewards.
But for the ecosystem in a wider sense, It's a question of perception. Onboarding, and retaining, new users to steem is so hard because of the perception that content will be rewarded based on quality. It creates false expectations and ultimately drives many away.
Plan B, I'm not sure. But if we're to survive as a content focused platform/blockchain, it needs figuring out. I think that when good people come together they can figure anything out!
This is the most brilliant answer or comment I have read in a very long time the truth is that the decentralized applications are already illegal in nature and it is always very sensitive to raise this kind of issues so that one will not be considered too greedy but the truth is that I have seed 100% contents without nothing special get 100% vote irrespective of what they are doing and this isn't the kind of the wording system that seems really fair the truth is that maybe there really are some set of rules that we are not really following but the point still remains that it's always fair to take one's mind off this kind of issues and that is why I suggested a plan b because some people have actually seen the vote of the decentralized applications as their birthright, either with quality content or not
Yep. It is a subject, and aspect of Steem that many will simply not talk about out of fear of losing the possibility of any type of vote support from those dapps, whichever they may be.
You're right, from being a curie curator I can tell you that they have very strict guidelines about the content that is considered acceptable for submission by the curators to the reviewers, but curie have always stated that it is here to reward 'exceptional' content and their assessment system ensures that to be the case. Maybe all the dapps have similar systems in place? Maybe they don't? If they don't have any system, or a very loose system, this means there will always be nepotism and people scratching each others backs. That is human nature. But I'm a big picture person. I think that in this steem system we all put into, whether it be with time or investment, or both; the increase in the value of everyone's steem if millions of new users flooded onto steem would far outweigh the daily rewards of those people who are consistently upvoted by dapps. My point is that they would gain more in the long term if the system was fairer but they maybe didn't always get that vote, and more people got it based on the idea of encouragement for good content. IMO this will only happen if dapps start to reward based on quality.
My reasoning is simple. The influx of those (hypothetical) millions of users would be retained, as it is much less frustrating for someone to see content that is better than theirs getting rewarded and it pushes them to improve their writing/filming/drawing/art/music, whatever content they focus on. As they develop their skills they see more upvotes and this becomes a virtuous circle... Rather than the type of circles we have on steem now that makes people run a mile.
I have a background in PR, and It boggles my mind that people don't see how their self serving behaviour effects the public sentiment about steem so negatively. But it boggles my mind even more, that they don't see that changing up there modes of thought and behaviour could lead to exactly what they, and all of us want in the long term, their investment to see monumental gain. Like $100\steem gain.
IMO, Steem will only see that level of success when the mass market from fbook, Twitter, YouTube, paitreon, medium etc flood to steem. This will trigger an uncoupling from bitcoin and then the demand for Steem will sky rocket mainly from businesses and advertisers needing steem to create incentive to reward people for interacting with them. All this will only ever happen when certain behaviours change, and possibly when all those markets I mentioned above have their own websites/dapps and even SMT's to function as the reward mechanism. I think maybe the key to this conundrum is seperating the content types into there own dedicated platforms, running on top of the steem blockchain, so that there it's less confusion for new users. Also, the dapps need to create best practices curation policies and document them on the blockchain so that there is transparency.
Anyway, I'm just letting my ideas and thoughts free flow here. I may well be living in a dream world 😉
If you are only using a dapp for the 100% upvote then you are using that dapp for all the wrong reasons. Think of a upvote from what ever app you are using to be a bonus not a given. I use @partico most of the time and if I get an upvote from them I consider that to be a great bonus but I do not count on getting one.
This is definitely true, but some people consider the DAPP vote as their birth right.
Very good insight as usual bro! I think everyone needs to see this especially dtubers. You should talk about things to to to create your plan b next though you did touch on it a bit! Good one bro

I'll do that really in a next video buddy, thanks for the amazing feedbacks always in my pieces, I'll talk a few things too thanks for pointing that out to me really.
To be honest very nice thought that did came upon through your Vlog and yeah I believe it has been seen already with a dapp and which made many users devastated with not getting enough support from it and come to think of it this will happen more in the coming days as the users will grow in here and we will get to see much more contents coming out. Yeah we do need support but from only a single source could really make a lot of backward trend come to mind resulting going into depression for a user (even after giving so much effort and not getting support). Wise words of yours buddy and yeah do what you like and you will always find a way.
Obviously a brilliant input buddy, yes, I believe in support but don't bank on it.

This is a great listen for a lot of people. Thanks for sharing your insights!
Thank you so much @theycallmedan I did think this Is a reference point I had to talk about, people feel the love for the dapps but is there a plan for them to stay happy using it when the rewards are inconsistent, thank you so much for your comment, I'm glad you liked it.
there are 100% consistent rewards? 😁 well it would be great to have them.

Well it's a premonition, I think some branded quality authors get 100%
