In the last week of February, the by-election of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCCC) mayor will be held. At the same time, 18 new wards and six reserved wards of the newly added wards and the newly formed 18 wards and six reserved wards will be held in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). The schedule for these elections will be announced in the second week of January.

These decisions were taken at the meeting of Election Commission today. Election Commission Secretariat's Acting Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed told the press conference after the meeting.

Helaluddin Ahmed said, those who will be elected in the newly added wards will have their duration for the remaining time in the city corporation. He claimed that the Election Commission reviewed the legal aspects. There is no legal issue regarding this election.

Responding to a query, Helaluddin Ahmed said that the new voter list will be published on January 31. Those who have voted, they can vote for the election, but they can not be candidates.
