Didn't have time (or patience) to use traditional media so I did mine with my trusty Ipad pro on the app procreate. <3
This wasn't easy at all because I'm SUCH a cat person and I literally NEVER draw dogs. geezuz.
Hope you enjoy my flying Doggo. I think she's kinda cute. XD
She flaps around, finding people with potential and in that adorable enthusiastic way of all dogs, nudges them to do exciting, fun things that will bring them out of their shell and make them shine.
May she bring you luck as well, my lovely fellow steemians <3
Here's the time lapse video for it, if you're curious. I drew a totally different dog at first and you can really tell I'm struggling in this video to find the anatomy and shapes which is kinda fun to watch haha

It was really fun to watch you work it all out as far as how you wanted the dog and your experiment with the wings. I'm about to start getting more involved in working digitally.
I have an Ipad pro that someone gave me a while back, but so far I haven't used it for anything other than playing with garage band. I will have to check out this Procreate app. I feel like there is a reproduction joke in there somewhere, but decided to leave it alone. Are there any other fun art apps that you would suggest?
it's weirdly entertaining to watch, isn't it? It's a strange feeling for me too because you just watch it like someone else is drawing it and not you. Very odd. In a good way XD

it's amazing. it's so cheap for what it can do. if you do end up getting it, I recommend watching a few youtube tutorials or "10 best procreate features" lists or something. Some of the essential features are not necessarily obvious at first glance.
There are a lot of people doing lettering with it, which is kinda neat, I found mainly tutorials done by those, but I've even seen people who now work exclusively on the Ipad Pro + apple pencil and procreate, for their professional work too. It's quite the powerful tool.
Total game changer in my opinion.
honestly, I got my IpadPro fro christmas (so not too long agao) and I had always planned to use it pretty much exclusively for drawing, (otherwise there's no point to getting an Ipad pro, really) so I don't really know of any other apps :P
The friendly peeps in the mac shop do though. If you can be arsed to go and ask lol
Did you get the apple pencil with that Ipad too? It's kinda an essential tool, you don't really want to be trying to draw with your fingers.. haha
It is a little strange to be outside yourself so to speak watching yourself. I feel the same way when I do my speed painting videos. I think, damn this video makes it look easy and then I remember how much I actually struggled during the progress.
Yeah I'm waiting to download it until I go get the pencil for it. I thought I had a stylus here that would work, but the ipad doesn't seem to respond to it.
haha omg yes I know what you mean. because it might record the things oyu erase/repaint but it doesn't record the endles hesitations in-between, the canvas flipping, the looking up reference to get a grip of whatever you're struggling with, the endless pondering

aahh yes. the apple world domination machine won't let you use other tech, didn't you know? XD
you need to "plug in" the apple pencil to "pair" it with the ipad, I believe it works with blutooth? Anyway, as everything, it's made so it's only compatible with other apple products. obviously. because you need to give them ALL YOUR MONEY, you see? lol
good luck, maybe you can somehow purchase a used one from somewhere? they're like a hundred bucks a pop all new. >->

This is excellent. Continue this path for a little while longer and the hallowed halls of Disney will await! This illustration really is rather lovely. A lot of life in those lines even though it's all digital. It's happy and curious and a bit fantastic. Because you didn't use the correct mediums first prize is unfortunately barred for you...but since this is the first contest we'll still letcha compete fo spots 2 - 10. What do you think?

It's the Ipad pro - apple pencil combo. I swear, Digital Painting has never been this good. You don't get that odd disconnect that you have with the cintiqs because the glass is so thick and it always feels like you're not really drawing where you're actually pressing the stylus. On the Ipad it's virtually flawless.

I should get paid for promoting this thing so much, seriously. hahaha
And yeah! Sounds fair to me! :D I just didn't have the time to get the traditional stuff out. Soooooo busy right now! O_O

Well, if you have a computer then nothings stopping you!
There are quite a few free/cheap alternatives to Photoshop out there for digital painting, you just need to to a tad of research.
The only other thing you need is a tablet, and you can probably get some cheaper older models online that work just fine and are a good way to start getting into digital art without having to commit a huge monetary investment right from the start, especially when you're not sure if you're going to stick with it. ;)
