RE: Mindful Monday - "Zenia" [ Original Composition ]

Thank you for listening and for your words! It's strange for me to identify myself as a pianist because I never took piano lessons - I'm a classically trained violinist and still feel very uncomfortable on the piano. Haha. Working on getting over that though! What video game music do you play?? That's so cool!

Playing any instrument helps me to find a meditative state. This post is part of a series that I do as part of my Sound Therapy practice. My website has more information about that if you're interested:

Cool. I'll definitely check it out.I like to play songs from Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Fable. I sometimes do my own interpretations of some songs, or find the notes by ear. I'm good at that, better than reading notes. It takes me forever to read notes.

I took lessons at 6 up until 19. Though I'm still not the best pianist and have trouble with certain rythms and such, but I play for fun and I can always alter some parts of songs to be more able to play them at full speed. Some are more challenging than others.

You play like you've been taking lessons a lot longer than me and as though you've been doing it with more practice than me. Now that's talent, right there :)

Do you also share your violin music here?

Amazing. I also learn by ear. It's challenging for me to learn a piece by reading the music and takes me longer to pick it up. It does help sometimes to be able to see fast passages written out though as it can be hard to discern what notes are being played when they kinda blur together.

I've actually never taken formal piano lessons. I'm a classically trained violinist and have just picked up other instruments along the way. I don't practice as much as I would like to. Haha. I'm glad it sounds like I practice a lot though! I usually get fixated on all of my mistakes, so this is nice to hear. Thank you! :D

I do also share my violin music here. You should be able to find some posts with violin if you go back in time on my blog. There will be more to come in the future as well though. :D

Awesome. Well now that I'm following you, I'm sure I'll be able to catch your posts.

Yeah, I sometimes get fixated on the errors too. That's why I prefer to record and edit my performances. They sound much better that way :D Playing live makes me so nervous, I can't play without errors.

By the way, I'm curious to know more about the sound therapy that you do. I checked out your website. I've seen those tools before, but I don't know the name. I know that vibration is connected to energy. I have a Tibetan singing bowl that I use sometimes and I've been putting together some tracks with the singing bowl and other sounds for relaxation music. Does teh sound therapy work similarly in terms of its vibration and effects?

Thanks for following!

Haha, yea playing live has been a big challenge for me, but it's helped me to grow so much and improve my playing and improvising so quickly.

Awesome! I use some singing bowls in my practice, but tuning forks are my main tool for assessing the energy flow through chakras and adjusting them as needed. Each chakra produces an electromagnetic field that interacts with the vibrating fork, moving the fork if there is flow through the centre and changing how the fork sounds.
