5 TIPS HOW TO FOCUS IN THE GYM TO MAXIMISE RESULT FROM TRAINING. DAY 15 OF FITNESS TRANSFORMATION
Hello Steemins,
Sometimes it is so easy to be distracted in the gym. As a result we spend more time in the gym and end up with less effective training session.
Today I will give you my personal tips, how to train more effectively every single time:
Tip No 1 :
- Put phone aside, there is no needs for the phone, when training in the gym.
Nowadays we always carry on phones everywhere in the pocket. With all the emails and social media. Anytime somebody can call and disrupt. Highly recommend leave phone at locker just for 1 hour until training session will be done. As soon, as you not waiting for life important call. Gym is place where focus is so important, so get yourself in the zone, no checking phones or social media, train hard and consciously perform exercises.
Tip No 2 :
- No much of chat-chat in the gym :)
Time between sets and exercises is so important. In some cases if it weight training fixed resting time between sets is crucial and so important. So muscles always warm and don't have chance of cooling down. It is important from effectiveness point of view, as well as preventing injury. Especially no talking needed, when performing exercise, always focus on breathing and technique of movement. From there I have Tip No 3 for you:
Tip No 3 :
- Wear Stop-Watch for calculation of resting time, between exercises.
Best idea is use stop-watch (not on your phone:) But actual Stop-Watch . Some gyms have screens with time. So keep on eye on time. 1 min rest and Go for next set and again strict resting time and start performing next set. You will be surprised how much time can be just waisted in the gym, while exercising. Training session what can be done within 1 hour, takes 2 or even .. 3 hours ! So guys keep on eye stop-watch and Time-Management!
Tip No 4 :
- Have your Set Training Programme with you.
So you know exactly what you will do in the gym. Exercises list to perform today. So you follow all the plan, as a one structure and not wandering around in the gym and deciding on the go what to do! If machine or bench you needed busy, just politely ask this person, how many sets they have left, don't be shy. Book yourself to do necessary exercise next. Or have couple alternatives in your programme if gym is completely busy.
Tip No 5 :
- Make sure you gave enough fuel to the body before gym session.
Guys and girls it is so important tip for everyone. Train on completely empty stomach not good idea. Unless it is fasting cardio session. Training with weights require "fuel" in the system. Have healthy meal just 1.5 - 2 hours before training session. (This is separate topic what to have, as there are a lot of variations of food needed, depending on your fitness goal) But main tip is please have a bit of complex carbohydrates, like rice or baby/sweet potato + good protein, for example if can be egg or chicken breast or fish fillet. You can also can have banana. It will give you energy to perform session stronger and to perform training with good amount of weighs volume.
Guys this is my tips for you. Hope you enjoyed it and information will be helpful for you. Please comment below if you have any extra notes or tips.

Anytime welcome! Glad info was useful!
Good tips Ivar, I used to do something similar when I was boxing many years ago now.
I need a more sedate work out these days.
That is awesome, sport should be best way to start one to one with yourself, nearly like meditation time
Great tips!! But I use my phone to track my workouts and for music. But that's it!
Good staff, for that use is great, flight mode will be perfect:)
Good call! Then i can definately not be interrupted!
Tips 3 and 4 are crucial, You start to realise how much time you waste between sets. I started to do a new rest technique in between sets to increase intensity without counting seconds. 5 deep breaths between sets and im good to go :)
Good tip about breath recovery
