No one really trusts the media or government anymore, and with good reason.
Plausible Hypothesis: Maybe it's because enemy infiltrators control the narrative and policies. What kind of enemy you ask? Possibly, the non-human, technologically advanced kind, with very weird eyes and a narrative to push. Think about THAT!
