It is said, "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely." It depends on what kind of power you're talking about. We all possess a measure of "power." For example, adults are much more "powerful" than kids, but I'd say the moral code within MOST (not all) people keeps them from abusing that power.
On the other hand, we've seen that political power is indeed a corrupting influence against which MOST are unable to stand. Not to mention that the very position of a "politician" is inherently PARASITIC.
Likewise, the monopoly on force we see with "law enforcers" and the inherently IMMORAL nature of "law enforcement," in general, draws the most corrupt and corruptible people out of the woodwork. If you disagree, lets have a conversation based on logic. Ad hominem attacks prove fruitless.

I agree with you for the most part,
however I believe that many cops are also just an outgrowth of a dumbed down, indoctrinated population.
They see the government, following the law, enforcing the "Rules" as a good and necessary thing, and simply
lack the capacity to understand that they are actually nothing but henchmen.
In their own fluorided mind they are good people doing the right thing.
No disagreement there.
