Will D-Tube actually take over from YouTube?
So many people are starting to convert their YouTube activities away from the Big Red Beast and upload to D-Tube, but is this going to be enough to bring mass adoption to the Steemit Ecosystem?
We've seen in Team Australia recently, Awesome Aussies such as Ben Lee @benlee have discovered D-Tube and he dropped his latest track here on Steemit. We've also had the gorgeous Naomi Brockwell @skycorridors bring her crypto related humour, reporting and music across to D-Tube just this last week HERE
I think for the small to mid sized YouTuber that has been affected by the recent spate of De-Monetisations that are going on with YouTube, then Dtube will be a logical place to head to. People with 2,5,10,000 Followers more than likely aren't earning a hell of a lot from YouTube anyway so the near instant rewards offered by D-Tube wil lbe very appealing.
What what about the big bloggers? I'm going to reference the woodworkers that I follow as I know this topics. When you start trying to have people like Jimmy Diresta with 1.1million subscribers, or Jay Bates with 424K, Matt Cremona with 148K and April Wilkerson with 560K subscribers, the youtube income is a full time income. These people do these videos full time.
The benefit that YouTube has for these people is that it is ALWAYS paying, not just for 7 days. 3 years down the track they still receive an income for videos they have uploaded.
So why would these people, or the equivalent people from any other industry and niche group join D-tube? Well frankly I don't know, I wouldn't abandon a full time income from YouTube for a 7day window of opportunity from Dtube. I believe the Dtube model needs to be very much different to that of Steemit and any other Instagram/Facebook style front end. It may even require a full fork similar to that of Vice, or maybe the elusive Smart Media Tokens so that it can be run completely separate to Steemit and give the best value to the video creators that we are looking to bring away from YouTube.

This is very true, i agree with you dtube needs a full ugrade, they've got to come up with something more creative if they are ever going to win the competition with youtube, thanks for sharing @gohba.handcrafts
I think the recent change in account status for so many users on YouTube will have them looking for other options and Dtube to me seems a logical place for them to move so lets hope it happens will be good for the community

You definitely bring up good points. I think the 7-day window period is quite short, especially for videos. I can see people who aren't making anything on YouTube think about coming to dtube especially since there is too many posters on YouTube so they would possibly get seen more on dtube and actually make money (possibly). However, dtube has a lot of growing to do. It is still slow, there are lots of errors that come up and whatnot and it still isn't really that user friendly yet. I still thinks it's a while out honestly.

I would think most would just want to mirror their activities on YouTube and d-tube. I would just hope my d-tube would make up for any losses I've faced because of all the ad issues and anything more then that would just be a place, but there is something to be gained I guess being someone who is first in the market place.
