RE: Nutrition 101 - What You Need to Know About Food

in #dtube7 years ago

Thanks for your opinion but I don't fully agree with you. The pdf is a simple explanation to people who are not aware of food classifications to understand which foods fall under which category, and provide them with several options. Vegetables and fruits are indeed carbs, but I'd rather prioritise them with their own column to avoid confusing people to stop eating fruits and vegi as a way to reduce their carbs. We should promote more consumption of fruits/vegi, and if anything reduce other carb sources, because vegi and fruits are rich in micronutrients. Dairies are indeed rich in fats but rich in protein and probiotcs (yogurt & cheese) and once again if they would be classified as fats people would avoid them. My aim with that chart is to promote healthy and complete eating to people who want to improve their health, and as you have seen in my video the correct breakdown of micro/macro has been explained. People can of course balance their diet with healthy and unhealthy foods if they please, staying in a caloric deficit will make them lose weight but losing fat also requires attention to the macronutrient breakdown as I'm sure you are aware. On the other hand the average person looking to lose weight will indeed benefit from caloric deficit and diets such as fasting, carb cycling, ketosis and even the classic 6 meals a day plan.
The pdf is a great way to have a list of healthy foods to implement in their diets. Let's promote health!

@gisi i completly agree that we should promote micronutrients dense foods but telling to people to avoid processed food is simply impossible in your pdf you mention oils and cheese one of the most processed food in the market, nutrition shouldn't be classified as healthy or unhealthy because it's all a question of context, anyway i see that your intention is to help people and i encourage you to continue :)
