Needless to say, I totally agree with you. You sir are a very old-school reviewer, and I like that.
In this video, I think, you describe two different tendencies that have been spreading in the last years: on the one hand, we tend to trust opinions over reviews. This has been helped and fostered by services such as Amazon and Steam. Now, the great thing about this system is that you can see the percentage of people that enjoyed a game or a product. The bad thing about it is that you don't know how many of them know what they're talking about. That's why I never leave reviews on Amazon: if I buy a 400$ television and I give it 5 stars saying "great picture quality! Amazing product!", do I really have any comparison to make that claim? Did I try other 400$ TVs? Do I know how to measure if the picture quality is actually good or do I just need to prove that I know how to spend my money? In games the process is similar, although if a lot of people have fun with a game that might say something about the game. Do gamers have to prove they spent their money wisely? I don't know, honestly. I jumped on the No Man's Sky train too early and I regretted it. I'd love those 60 bucks back. A lot of other people said the same about it.
On the other hand you have factions. Everywhere. Opinions and factions come before reality. What you think to be true is true, if reality tells you different, reality is wrong. We see that on social networks all the time, and that's the thing - you can't discuss with people like that. That's the way it goes now.
But now that we established that a review should be made by someone who has experience and expertise and can give you an objective evaluation of a game's quality, I ask you: do you think there can be such a thing as a 100% objective review?

I don't think a review can be 100% objective as long as its made by people. 90%, absolutely, that is without a doubt possible. But when you get into 100%, you have to remove the person, because everyone has a bias towards what they personally enjoy, and even if they are aware of it, it may color their general perception of the game.
