Down Under Build day 4

For any knife build there is always that one part that you are really excited about. This entire build has been one cool thing after another, and I am really excited to do the handle. It is maple wood with 3/16" stainless steel pins.

It is really a two step process. Well, I think you can split it up more than that, but two main section. The prep work and the finish work. The prep work is what I am covering in this video. I can't really show the action of every step, but I think these videos are a nice touch to help the buyer @galenkp feel closer to the build.

In this video I am going to shape the wood scales and shape and sand the that touches the cutting edge. You want to make sure to work that part so that you don't have to mess with it once it is glued to the blade. I am also cutting the stainless steel pins and drilling the holes in the scales and getting everything to fit together.

What I didn't show on this video is what comes right after I get everything cut and fit. I took the pieces into the house and got it all epoxied and put together. It has been setting in my house for about a day and a half, and is just waiting for the next step.

The next video will be shaping the handle and then sanding it all down. That is coming pretty close to the end of this project. It will be alot of sanding, and then turns into wet sanding with tung oil. Crap, I can see it already!
