RE: Derrick Broze Speaks at Anarchadelphia 2019
Correct me if I'm wrong @cosimo but it seems you are pointing out an issue of framing.
One man's razor knife, is another man's cardboard box opener.
Weapon vs tool.
That bolded text in your first message above, is effective because it highlights the problem in a direct, visceral way.
Anyone reading that, can't help but feel a connection to what's being said and a call to take action. I can see it. If you can develop a process to let him see what you see, it might be very helpful.
@evernoticethat yes, I'm not arguing against his cause or anything idealogical.
Journalists and activists often become disheartened when their message isn't sinking in or getting the desired response. It's human nature to think that the reason for that is that nobody cares. Or there is some idealogical issue.
I'm saying that's not the case. It's something as simple as "how you say it".
I'm sure Derrick has experienced this. He preaches something for months or longer, no one seems to react, and then someone else comes along and says the same thing, one time, and everyone's all about it.
Derrick always puts his heart into what he does. And people feel that. But everyone handles feelings differently.
Some might whip into action, some might curl into a ball, some might become angry at the messenger...
