Are You Staking ALL Your Steem-Engine Airdrop Tokens or Exchanging them For STEEM? Got 50SBD Worth of Free Tokens! Whhhaat!!

in #dtube7 years ago (edited)

This is just a follow up on my previous post. I woke up to a $2.35 worth of SteemSpeak Token & I must say I was blow away. In that minute I knew I had to sell before I miss the wave. Looking at my Steem-Engine right now, I have 50SBD Worth of Free tokens and the dilemma right before this post was whether to stake or sell them for Steem.

I am now of the opinion of selling some for Steem. i feel like for platforms you have no intention of being active in, it's best to exchange the free airdrop tokens for some Steem. For platforms that you intend to be involved it, I think it would be best to stake those right?

That's just my opinion, feel free to share with me yours!

Happy Weekend to All.

XOXO

I haven’t been paying much attention but maybe I should sell. I’m definitely not going to start being active on all these projects.

Yeah, it is getting very overwhelming. We are probably at over 100 tokens on Steem-Engine now.

I haven’t participated in all the airdrops. At least not ones requiring action to do so. But even having just actively done one I have several coins in my wallet. I’m curious to see how things turn out with them, but not selling

i did the same kind of thing today...changed some of the coin from the communities I do not expect myself to be active in...

and staked the ones that I think that might do something usefull

Great Move gurrl! Great minds do think a like:)

I wrote a few hundred words and erased them. I'll just briefly say again steem engine is not a good look for mobile users and nobody outside of steem could ever tolerate it.

I read your post this morning (rant) :D It really is not a good look, but I am hopeful it is something in development, hopefully sooner than later.

Yes getting removed from a drop for stating the obvious really shows me it's a weak hand at this time. A real potentially successful venture would say "I understand your frustrations and while SE is not my creation I will pass on your legitimate concerns and look forward to your future input in our community"

Instead I got told "no blank coin for you" and a host of other how dare you sir statements, then came the cheerleaders telling me how despicable I am. The whole high school drama thing here is also silly, lack of professionalism. You start a token it's airdrop fails and I tell you that the entire platform it's built on is questionable then you should take that into consideration. I'm not going around dumping on people's dreams, but that will happen and they'll then realise I wasn't the bad guy.

WOW, That's completely unacceptable! To exclude people from airdrops because they voiced their opinion? NO. Doesn't matter what they did, that's just unfair.

I didn't catch where that conversation went down, but I will get to the bottom of it. Other than that, I feel developers should be able to take criticism without being emotional about it.

Yea I could have been more clear that I was expressing general criticism not at all directed at them specifically but it caught me a bit off guard. Then I had to rant 🤑

Ultimately I was trying to ask what the criteria is for getting the drop because if it's using stakers from other communities I see that as discriminatory towards those who may have needed the money and also those like myself that are not staking some coins because I don't believe in them or whatever reason.

That's their right of course but ultimately that's just another form of slack/discord circle jerking.. To say you're excluded because you're frustrated by dealing with steem engine on your mobile or because you sold another coin so that you could buy some btc down the line and eat a sandwich is not something I can support.

Now these are my opinions and not financial advice blah blah but I'm just saying ain't nothing new under the sun..

I also got told that stakeholders will provide the food for future communities which implies it's an opportunity cost and if you can't afford savings at the ground floor you will never be able contribute. Not to mention that if these coins go belly up and i sold the free tokens for btc or steem I'm the one spreading the currency because I had the foresight to see a bad investment and got out.. Of course we are not talking about major money but 70 USD of bnb or btc is way more attractive to me than a blank coin. There might be a blank coin lol, no offense blank people 😂

Anytime, they can be very insightful. I appreciate everyone's opinion when it comes to STEEM. Happy Monday :)

And a fantastic one to you too, did we calm down? :D

I haven't come around to sorting out the tokens
But that is a good idea
To stake on the communities you'd be part of
Good one Elsie :D

I'm staking most of them, but selling the occasional bits and pieces occasionally too.
The reason I stake them is because it means that my upvotes now give people those tokens once staked.
PAL tokens are great. I stake them, upvote and then occasionally sell the occasional bit of token interest.

Some tokens might be worth a lot in the future. But mostly I need to focus on making more content.
I have just been putting it off for too long.
