The DOUBLE LIFE of a young British POLE DANCER - a short documentary

I would like to share with you one of the first documentaries I ever shot. It is about Lorna Thomas, a young pole dancer who has a difficult challenge in life. She must split her time between her glamorous life on stage and caring for her father who has Alzheimers.

A short documentary film about Lorna Thomas - a young pole dancer from Chesterfield and her life between the stage and caring for her dad suffering from Alzheimers.

I shot this footage during the world championships of pole dancing in LONDON. I didn't imagine the high quality of performers. It absolutely blew my mind and I wanted to start dancing right away.

Some performers put a high emphasise on story and others more on acrobatics. Some also went for doing a very sexy performance but they all had a very unique style and personality.

The angles some of the ladies could create were absolutely fantastic - or the effect like they are walking through the air.

Pole dancing has a long tradition in China. It comes more from the circus world and less from the universe of stripping. There were very skilful performers from China in the competition - both men and women.

Also the make up was spectacular. Some of them had make up all over of their bodies. It was super interesting spending some time backstage with the performers from all over the world. Many of them are sowing their own costumes and are not only dancers but also designers.
