I was totally disappointed when realized there is no Markdown support on the awesome , then i created a CustomScript as a workaround, because the source of DTube isn't on GitHub (…yet, i hope):

Automatically Convert DTube Markdown comments to HTML in browser supported by jsdelivr.net CDN:
Install in 2 steps:
- Add Tampermonkey to Chrome, or Greasemonkey to Firefox (or others) video or Written tutorial
- Install the CustomScript from
- Follow me, check for updates, ask for more features and enjoy!
In this version you need to activate the Markdown-View manually, more automation coming later…
When you post a video on the steem❤ blockchain using
a new post appears on your steemit profile where you can see markdown formatted content and even edit until few days.

This is cool, but my personal stance is that markdown is good for blogging, not for video comments. I don't like the idea of people spamming gifs in comments. I'd rather stick to the way YouTube does it.
You are right @heimindanger, but in a decentralized world is better to have the possibility to fulfill wide range of personal needs, this is why i prefer an option to use markdown.
As i see the best solution to do this use markdown by default and have a checkbox for
