How is the free market better at defeating monopolys rather than govt regulations?
I'm not so much against monopolies, as coercive monopolies- ones where you have no choice. These can't exist apart from government protection.
If someone has a monopoly, and everyone was happy with their product or service (quality, price, customer service, everything) so that no one felt inspired to compete, I don't see a problem. As soon as someone isn't satisfied, in a liberated market they can try to offer a choice and see if others feel the same.
If you don't like the choice you have, monopoly or not, in a liberated market you can compete if you think you know a better way. No licenses, no permits-- just offer something you believe is better.
