"IXIES" - Ambient DTube Modular Synth Improv IV by DRUMOPERATOR

In this new ambient electronic DTube improvisational modular synth video I’m taking the Make Noise telharmonic out for a serious spin. The telharmonic is unique in that both the Harmonic output (effectively a three voice chordal oscillator) and the Phase Mod output are live simultaneously, so both the pretty textural melody in the opening (aided immensely by the Clouds texture synthesizer) and the vicious spikes midway through are originating from the same unit. The spikes are the recipient of some wave folding from the Mutable Instruments Warps, one of my favorite sound destruction devices. Warps has just about every variety of wavefolding, ring modulation and vocoding selectable off it’s main dial (It the big lit up knob on the left side.) Where the rubber hits the road is that the algorithm can be dynamically changed over CV. This opens up a -huge- spread of glitchy, wavefoldy, vocody options.
