Eps15 When Zombies are causing a panic

Since we were little, we may have had bad dreams, and were too afraid to turn off the lights at night; especially after watching a scary movie.
In life, there are events that may cause stress and panic to occur, like in the 1968 movie; “Night of the Living Dead”, imagine, Zombies trying to get you… After such an experience, your stress levels may begin to increase and climax within 15 minutes and end within half an hour.
Generally, when people feel too much stress, it is the SympathetIc Nervous System;(CNS); that has become activated, which prepares the body for a large release of energy that prepares the body for some type of “Action”.

Then, the Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS); “Reaction”; steps in, and the body stabilizes to a calmer state. If the parasympathetic nervous system is somehow unable to respond or do its job, a person will then remain fired up and may experience “the high spark”, characteristic of a panic attack.

Some parts of the brain become very active. These are, the amygdala, which functions as the fear center of the brain, and is also parts of the midbrain; that controls a variation of functions, like experiencing pain.
When we are in danger the Periaqueductal gray also known as the central gray; which is an area of the midbrain that provokes and cause the body’s defensive response mechanism to kick-in; like freezing or running; a.k.a “Fight or Flight Reaction”.

Next time that you are afraid, remember to keep your amygdala in control, and don't let your central gray to outsmart you. “Survival Mode It To Go”
