The Money Deluge

in #dtube5 years ago

This documentary from DW in Germany has the subtitle: How the rich get richer, and seeks to answer the question where does money come from and why is it getting concentrated in the hands of the few?

As students interviewing people on the streets in Germany find out, most people have simply no idea how money is made, or what backing it has, or who is authorised to create it.

There is a deluge of money being printed around the world, most of which is backed by nothing at all, just debt instruments upon more debt instruments, tied to nothing tangible, and reinvested to make even more money.

The problem is there has never been so much money but it is concentrated in the super-rich and the average working or middle class people have no returns on it, or rather: are losing out on their savings.

We are in the midst of an extraordinary debt bubble, the likes of which the world has never seen, and it really has to fail some day. When it does it is going to bring about chaos on a global scale.

This is one of the better of the mainstream films seeking to understand some of the problems with the way money is made at present, and where it is leading us. Of course the solutions offered are mainstream too, but would at least be steps in the right direction.

Because of its format and its mainstream appeal this is a good film for explaining to sceptics and/or family members what is going on, so they can see a new financial order is a must before we all go under.
