Do we really need borders ? ! - Day 312 !
I was preparing a video collaboration with @bobaphet and I come with a great idea.
What if we really didn't have any borders and to travel from a country to country was much easier.
We have so many people fighting others and thinking they are better, just because they live in a country they think is the best for them.
I lived in two countries and both people are very different countries, but each people say we are better.
Some people got stuck in one country for ever and can't leave it for some reasons.
Those border created between countries are so unseen when we are online.
Any time, we can talk with anyone from any place in the world.
We have so many international friends and we don't feel those borders at all.
Even the English language is so popular in the world and most of people understand it.
Do you think that we still need those borders after that ?
Will we live in the future somehow else, where everyone is the same, no matter of his origin, language, religion, tradition and habits.
Life is too short to fight each other for things we will not have for ever anyway.

I can't say anything definite about the borders.
If there were no state borders in some developed countries, so many people would rush there! But in their home countries there would be almost no one left.
I think at this stage of civilization, borders are still needed in some places.
Yes, we need borders in the current paradigm. As long as there are Countries, there will be borders. Is there a form of government that could be a One World Government? Currently, no. Closest example is the US Constitution. No power will relinquish that power. Someday I think there will be no borders, not until technology renders it pointless. If we had no borders the taxpayers of the "Country" will be paying for the non citizens(period). We have no borders on the internet(period). US taxpayer PAY $116 billions dollars a year for illegal immigrants. Look at what is happening to Europe. English people are having acid thrown in there faces by extremist Islamic people. I 100% agree with borders as long as we have Countries. We are not the same people, China and Russia are perfect examples of this. How many Countries have Freedom of Speech?
Yeah, that's sad to see. The world is too divided. But people and governments are not the same. Usually citizens are peceful peaceful and they became victims of political games. I just try to give my imagination some freedom sometimes. I don't watch a lot of news, but I watch a lot of anti utopia movies and I already watched one today called ''Equals''. Such movies always make me think about topics like this one.
At least we shouldn't have borders in steem. lol All steemians should feel the same, no matter how steem power they have. ☺
But all steemians are not the same. We humans are all the same, sharing this Earth. We humans allow "leaders" to rule us. We humans always seem to pass the puck, hoping someone else will handle their issues. As long as that mentality thrives, the individual will never have power. I see tech changing that very soon, we just cant let a small group of people control the narrative. I agree with you, I believe people are inherently good, however some are not, so we create Governments to enforce laws to protect us from those who infringe on our rights. Now only one country looks at its citizens as the true power (USA)no other country allows its subjects to voice their opinions without fear of being surpressed. I wish we all could get along, but unfortunately 200 million people live to see the western world destroyed.

Yeah, we have powers controling the world even now. But at least we have to be good with each other and don't get manupulated by the news.
100% people like you and I respect another's opinion, that is how we manage that. When people get emotional and start namecalling(micro war) it is no longer productive.

I told you, I'm not into politics that much. I mean goverments = politicians , people = citizens.
Does your home have walls and a door/s with a lock or something similar? If the answer is yes then borders are useful for you.
Borders are not the same a private property. Private property can still be respected even without borders. But there will always be clans and tribes protecting their cultures and families with or without borders. Respect and NAP is one thing, but if people do not respect and do not abide by the NAP, then it's probably necessary. Ugh, this is such a tough question when you're on the fence. (No pun intended.)
The principle is the same, they are meant to protect the people that are inside from potential dangers that are outside.
🤔Hmm, true. But security measures can be ridiculous when someone is being detained for audio equipment or because they don't want to be radiated with dangerous scans, and it's either that or be groped type thing. A solution needs to be found.

Even with no borders, there will always be territories where people will coalesce and protect their culture, and that's normal. In the "olden days" there were tribes, clans, groups of such. There are pros and cons to both given the current state of the governments. I believe if there ever comes a time when there is no government, then borders will be different to what they are now.
Yeah, it will be really interesting to live in such world.
