RE: University of Malta to Offer a Masters Degree in Blockchain
This is really interesting news.
It's a recognition from education providers that there is a need in the market for people with the relevant official qualifications in blockchain technology and business.
As the blockhain thing becomes more and more established as a practice in transactions among businesses and individuals, this type qualification could become the benchmark for the banks of the future, in order for them to hire their staff.
From what I have read on the University's website from the link that you provided in the article, this is a postgraduate course for ICT, Business and Law degree holders. The course coordinator is Dr Joshua Ellul who is computer scientist, so there will be a strong ICT element in the course.
That could the start for other universities to follow, since I believe there is plenty of room for research and development in this field.
