Finishing Strapping and Pre-Drywall Details - Renegade's Home Build vlog #57

Finally, I am getting to the end of the exterior strapping. I really hope all this extra effort pays off in reduced heating expenses! There are definitely easier ways to get this sort of R-value but they would have involved losing some floor space due to the building regulations that are imposed in our county. The other big plus to the strapping system we are using is that it reduces the chance of a wall leak plus, the added air circulation improves drying in the wall cavity if one does occur.

In this video, I also finish up the last details of the stairwell before drywall is installed. I did some fortifications to the end of the half wall that had some movement but, unfortunately, there is still a little play. Hopefully, the drywall will stiffens things up even more once it's installed.
