Open science is a weird one.
But, it will probably be the one that solves this major issue.
How do you collaborate without a trusted central authority?
The thing about open source is its just a web page. Or a steem post. There is almost no way to drive eye-balls to it, and there is almost no way to get other people who are interested in the same thing to know you exist.
And then, what do you do with people operating on different paradigms?
Lets say you have flat earthers who are looking for the truth about the shape of our world
And you have globe earthers who are looking for the truth about the shape of our world.
Currently, one group is shunned and ridiculed, why the other group is relying on data from a known liar. And they are both at each other's throats.
However, any open source system will need both of these groups to exist side-by-side in the data. Neither group banning the other, and data being able to flow freely between them.
This is a monumental task.
