2 Minutes with the Farmer: Future of Steemit and Dtube!!!
Today on 2 Minutes with the Farmer we are talking about the future of Steemit and Dtube. These two platforms are what introduced me to the world of crypto and I am so thankful. But what is the future for them both?
Thank you for spending 2 minutes with me!

Excellent observation, I do remember a day with more contests and just fun posts! How about this... I challenge you to come up with a fun post. You have a good following so I am sure it would be successful!

I appreciate the challenge. I will have to think on that one. I am not the most creative person.
I double dog dare you!!!! haha
Hey maybe @thefarmerswife can help! Maybe the Lego Lord could help too!
Yeah, great idea. It would have to be something to do with cows and/or goats, or farming in general ;)
Speaking of goats; do a google search of "goats in trees" if you want a good laugh.
I will check that out!
We are brand new here and basically converting from YouTube to this platform mainly. We are trying to figure it out and from a newcomer looking in, I'd say you're right about the lack of interaction between people. It seems that there are a lot of bots that upvote, but very little interaction among people. We would like to see that change one day, but it may have to come in the form of money first...not sure.
I think you are right. People follow the money. When you could make good money from a single upvote people were much more active. Welcome to Steemit. I hope you enjoy it and things turn around soon
I agree as well. When I started here 2 years ago there was a lot more interaction but then again the payouts from posts were a lot higher too!!!
True.... I'm new on dtube and steemit when steem is at its lowest possible. So I have to see only upward trend now. Hopefully it happens soon. .... Kudos for your efforts
Thanks. Best of luck to you. I think there is great potential on Steemit. We will just have to wait and see
Hello my friend! :D
I joined steemit because I'm a social person and my handsome husband told me I'd enjoy it if I did, he was right, but don't tell him that, LOL. :D
I'm still here because of the wonderful people that I've met, like yourself, and been blessed to become friends with. :D Now don't get me wrong, the money would be nice, but I never did figure out how to cash in anyway, so I'm probably never going to see the money when steem goes back up. :D LOL
I don't know about others, but I feel bad when I can't really contribute to the conversation, mostly because I'm not well-versed in the topic, like cryptocurrency (that stuff basically goes right over my head, no matter how many people try to explain it to me), but I up vote and resteem them all, even though my votes not worth much. :D
I feel weird commenting on some posts even when I know things about it or really enjoyed them, especially when its pictures because there are only so many ways to tell someone they've taken gorgeous pictures or made an interesting post, without sounding like your just saying it for the sake of saying something and the poster thinking I'm not sincere, so I just don't make a comment at all in those instances. :D I'm not sure if it would be better to make the comment anyway or not. What do you think, comment, upvote and resteem or not comment, upvote and resteem? :D
God bless you and your wonderful family. :D Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! :D
I can honestly say that you are by far the most encouraging person I have met her on Steemit. I look forward to reading your comments every time. Thank you for being so uplifting and encouraging. Hope you have a wonderful day my friend;)
Awe, that is so nice to hear, thank you very much. :D I have my down moments, believe me, but I try not to pass them on to anyone else, well except for my poor handsome husband, he always knows when things aren't right with me when I'm not humming a tune. :D
I watch your posts for the same reason, you and you're lovely wife make me smile when I watch your videos and your kids are so cute with their videos, I miss some of them, but I always watch the ones I see in my feed. :D
God bless you and your wonderful family. :D Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! :D
Come for the money stay for the fun! I am hooked on the connections I’ve made and the valuable content.

I agree!!
Even the front page of Steemit encourages people to sign up to get paid, so as you pointed out there's certainly a monetary aspect to the whole thing and to a lot of the activity. An argument could be made for building a platform that's not tied to any one particular cryptocurrency, so that way you could introduce new currencies and switch them around based on what's doing well in the market.
As for the future of DTube, if you take a look at https://new.d.tube you'll get a hint at what they're working on. Basically, the new Dtube, in addition to earning Steem, is going to have its own token and currency, and have better integration with YouTube, so you can upload a video to YouTube and then embed it into a DTube post, basically. If I'm understanding correctly, in the new DTube videos will always be able to earn DTube Tokens for as long as they're on the website, so even if someone finds a video you did a while ago and upvotes it, it can still earn more tokens.
Those sound like great additions to dtube. Thanks for the comment
I've never seen anyone really make money here. I just like the chance to share what I learn.
Howdy sir Farmer! I didn't know people weren't commenting as much, I can't keep up with my comments. But I have noticed that the actifit and steem monsters have let people really get lazy with their posts by just putting their actifit report up or a game results page up. I still see lots of challenges and contests though.
I don't see it as a problem if there is a lack of interaction, they'll pour back in when the price rises.
