Dear Mother
A message to Mother.
This post was inspired by the ecotrain prompt "hope", I know I am late...but I ain't no rapper!,
also, a chat on curationcorner with cleanplanet, and a hint of inspiration by Engine's #partikopoetry
Dear mother,
Someday I'll remember to tell you I love you
someday when the sky isn't grey but blue
I hope that day never comes when it is grey
I hope that bald eagles live long to find their prey
I wish my children see butterflies
I wish they thank you for all your supplies
You give us so much and we took it all for granted
we could have done better, but greed has got us thinking slanted
Mother, is it too late to turn around and say sorry now?
will you please let us keep the polar bears
and let us enjoy fields with the feeding cows?
I know the ocean is dying slowly
but will we get to enjoy the meadows and guacamole?
You are getting hot and its my mistake solely
but I am so used to this modern world and the magic of plastic,
The new world is greedy and the changes are drastic,
but I have learnt from my mistakes and I want to make a change
maybe it is too late now mother, but I will try my best to save you in exchange
My best isn't very good, but tiny drops make an ocean
I will be responsible with my trash and try to stop this commotion
maybe this is a start to me doing something better
I will throw garbage where it needs to be thrown,
I'll separate my plastics and put them where they should go
All in the hopes that mother earth feels better.
All in the hopes that we save our mother.
