BuzzSteem Ep. 30 [Dtube Exclusive] Confessions of a Cam Girl/Stripper
Happy Saturday Steemians!
So BuzzSteem is going to look a little different in the upcoming episodes. While I still want to cover at least the weekly happening on Steemit and Dtube, I also want to talk about other things happening around the world, news, events, politics, crypto, etc. I don't want to get too boxed in with only the happenings on Steemit. I want to still make Steemit my focus, especially since I am able to recognize great content creators that way, but sometimes I plan to deviate from my norm and bring you some interesting topics.
Today, I am sharing something very personal with you guys, and that is my short stint as a cam girl/stripper. I have done both, and I thought you would be interested in knowing what it's all about. I wish more ladies would talk about their experiences openly as I feel as though it would normalize the taboo that surrounds the topic. It's just another job, even if the qualifications of it are inherently sexual in nature.
Anyway, I won't spill anymore beans in the description, so you just have to watch if you want to know more!

Duuuuuuuude! This is amazing! I have so much to say about all of this. Firstly, thank you... I love that you've posted this. I had no idea there were so many people that strippers had to pay.
I've been to strip clubs a couple of times for bucks parties, and they are so massively awkward. We've had a big group of dudes talk to the stripper about her college course while she was dancing on everyone, once we all turned our seats inward so we'd be left alone and a stripper stole my hat... but mostly the married dudes are the hardcore party guys because they get out so rarely and the rest of us just want to go to a bar.
I do wish that sex wasn't such a hangup for so many cultures. The industry wouldn't be nearly as massive if we just treated it like any other business. I have absolutely no issue with men or women paying for sex or similar, because I'm pretty sure relationships aren't for everybody... and if we could legislate so it wasn't illegal or a big deal I think we'd solve a lot of problems.

super interesting video. The first strip club I ever went to was on Spring Break one year when my friend and I drove clear from Indianapolis to Phoenix and we went to the Great Alaskan Bush Company. I didn't like the scene and I never have liked the Strip club scene.
I can imagine how it would have been tough for you thinking that someone might see you.....etc.
Also that is not cool your guy bounced out and "didn't want to play house" anymore. What a man baby. A woman has enough to worry about raising a child and all that and for homeboy to just bounce.... not cool. I'm glad you made it through the situation and can talk about it pretty level headed at this point.

Yeah. I mean I won't pretend that there aren't two sides to every story. He was nearly on the spectrum (for autism) and I knew this when we met, but it was so refreshing to have someone who was interested in talking to me, rather than just after me for some ass. I was so shocked and taken to that that I equated "not getting treated like a piece of meat" to "someone who is suitable for marriage." I feel like I kept trying to fit him into something that he wasn't: father, husband, head of the household etc, and as the responsibilities built up, he got overwhelmed and couldn't deal with it anymore. I guess he hasn't really learned his lesson either, as he got into another relationship after a long break from them, and got some woman pregnant only 2 months into their relationship, and has now totally dumped out on me for any child support. So yeah, def not father of the year, but there are definitely things I took away from my first marriage, and has in general helped me understand men better in my second. Some things are just universal in relationships, and I wouldn't have known that until now, though yeah, I didn't get any choice in the dissolution of our marriage, though it was better in the long run, even if I had to shake it for some randos for a little while! :)
It was a job available on short notice. You had eluded to this before so I knew, but it seems to matter to you more than me. Sorry that some one abandoned you and left you pressured to find something fast; this could have ended so much worse so I'm glad you can talk about this. You actually have the balls to post this, amazing!
Yeah well it seems to be a hangup for a lot of people. Certainly not something you put on a resume anyway! And as it turns out, my deepest, darkest secret is worth....drumroll...just under 2 bucks!!! Hahaha.
Well, I can't change that on the video, but, if you comment a few times I can add .03 increments. You got to remember it's Saturday, folks are out running around doing stuff they can't do during the week, and the day is not over yet.

Wow what an interesting video feel got to know you a little bit more. I always look forward to watching your video's Beth you are on the path to something awesome to keep adding to your content and growing it.
I think personally its good that women have these options available to them should they choose to do it. I believe men also cam but mainly for different reasons , its good that you can sit there and talk about it where other women like you say might feel ashamed.
I remember the other day when you said about content creators on DTube are going to be the future big vloggers which kind of excited me. I'm sorry your application in the police force did not go further, I recently got a job offer which turned out to be a bad move. Which is why I think fate is keeping me doing steemit, do you think this also maybe that you are doing this for a reason???
I'm not sure, and I am on the fence about continuing. Big payouts from dtube are super cool, but they are so sporadic, and completely random seemingly. Even the big YTube creators have been complaining that there is no consistency to earning on Steemit. Dtube wants quality content, but creators can only commit to that kind of quality if they know there will be compensation for said content, like guaranteed. It bothers me that people on here have such a "no one owes you anything" approach. While I tend to agree with that, and think you should have to work for what you have, I mean, what employee would ever take a job for an employer where there was no guarantee of a paycheck? FB doesn't pay many creators, but the ones they do get a payout for every piece of content they drop, same with Youtube. You can kind of know what to expect, and that's kind of nice. On here, it's just a wild west of crazy where you don't know from one day to the next if you will make 2 bucks from dropping your deepest darkest secret, or $150 for some dumb post about flag wars.
I think the bottom line is that Steemit is great for part time fun, but unless you want to invest your own money in, it is hard to take seriously as full time work (unless you have a reliable whale funding you). The inherent problem with this though, is that Dtube will never have the consistent quality that they want so bad. I would LOVE to start doing some awesome stuff through my non profit. I have a lot of talented people at my fingertips, but I can't front that kind of time and money with no return. When we were making things on youtube, we used patreon for some of our funding, but the quality of dtube isn't even what youtube is, and it would be a hard sell to get our patreon peeps to consume our projects on dtube!

I know a lot of people have said that I dodged a bullet in not getting that police job, but I had already envisioned my life with it, and how much easier things would be. We are struggling so bad financially right now, and it's just been impossibly hard to find work. I am also very anxiety-ridden and I hate the uncertainty of gigs like this. It makes me a little k00-koo for cocoa puffs.
Anyway, didn't mean to ramble on, just got to thinkin' about some things!
No I appreciate the response, I am part of a DTube group on steemit but there is little interaction it puzzles me like you say some content creators are making a serious amount of money but even then not every post they are some amounts are small.
Dtube upvoted a video when I was having a meltdown for 5 minutes but when I posted a funny video or something informative mostly I will get no upvote.
I would say that it should be that if DTube are going to support you it should be an ongoing thing but it frustrates me that their communication is not often.
I know they are focusing on making it bigger and better but there are so many good ideas I have about ways of rewarding content creators. I just have no idea where or who to speak to.
Personally I would love to do a weekly show with another creator and pool our resources together because not only does it offer more but it brings more ideas to the table.
Its hard because lots of the stuff has been done, when I look at the creators on you tube even now they struggle with ideas, and then I read the comments from a lot of the fans and they are just not interested now Possibly because most of them are not kids any more and its a new generation now.
Yesterday for instance Colleen Ballinger on you tube clickbaited a new romance, and the video she promoted a new book for Miranda Sings the viewers were not happy their getting tired of clickbait and not seeing anything new.
Give it a little more time. You are doing great, seriously. You are early in this game and liked already. You can be personal and people appreciate it. It will get you places.

Surely an account this big has a responsibility to share more vote love amongst the Dtube community on a regular basis and to more people.

Yeah I know blockchain is forever. That's ok. I have always considered running for political office, and if I ever did, this would be the first thing I would talk about. No need for skeletons in any closets. Everyone has their crosses to bear. For instance, infidelity runs DEEP in my family, and my mother disclosed her affair with me at 8 years old. This was after all my siblings found out that my dad was having an affair with a T-Ball mom. I didn't judge her or think any differently of her, though I realize now that she probably should have confided in a counselor and not her 8 year old, but either way. I didn't really see either of my parents any differently for what they did. All that mattered to me was having their support. In my case, I haven't even done anything wrong. I never hurt anyone, I have never cheated anyone. I was left high and dry, and I remained calm and provided for myself and my daughter. I didn't get any help from anyone, and I am proud of my story. I want my daughter to know that one day, and to know that I wouldn't actively encourage her to go into a job like that, but that I would never be ashamed of her if she did, and my beautiful, brilliant 6 year old will one day realize the lengths I went to to be able to stay home with her, and give her my all for the first 5 years of her life. That's all that matters to me really.
As far as dtube, I try not to get enraged. I would hope that they would regularly reward their reliable creators, but that just doesn't happen, and it's frustrating. I have NO CLUE how they delegate their rewards, and have given up trying to understand. It's surely not based on content, or any regularity. SP doesn't seem to matter, or reputation score, and tags and keywords don't seem to be a part of their choice either. I feel like it boils down to sheer dumb luck. I kinda hate this, because I feel like good producers won't stay producing if they can't be sure they will be compensated. As I said above, I get that no one is owed anything, but the same goes for dtube. People don't owe dtube select content. So if they want it, they need to pay regularly for it, especially if they ever hope to compete with Youtube.
I interpreted it more as a preference for a certain type of content, as though they are constantly looking for Ren & Stimpy's Happy, happy, Joy, Joy song in a new rendition. As a viewer I get bored with watching cheerleaders all day, and as a creator I quickly realized that buying $5,000.00 worth of Steem would make my efforts payout a whole lot better in an instant. YT reminds me of those strip club owners; they always complain they didn't make any money but never file for bankruptcy. It's those things that make you go, ..hmm. (you should check Post Modern Jukebox on YT if you don't already)

Plus I remember researching about other womens' experience before I danced, and how helpful it was to find some real talk...
I danced in Portland, OR, which I think has it's own unique dancer culture, we got to do feature talent acts (I would hula hoop, or sing, or rap)... I'm curious where you danced?

It's great to see the style of this video as a sort of Storytime (a la the You Tube tradition)... These are the kind of videos I'm planning on making, and I haven't really found peeps on here doing that yet. You're a pioneer ;)
