Hmmmmm.... I've never done this before; I want to but...
It's easy! Just pick something you'd like to hear a song about, no matter how weird. You can write one word, or a sentence or even a whole story. But usually it's just one word. And of course you can always just key in the first word that comes into your head... sometimes those make the best prompts :)

In case you are not aware of what Steem Basic Income is: each share gets you upvotes for life. The more shares you have, the higher the upvotes. So, rather than seeing Steem in your wallet, what you should start to see is upvotes on your posts from SBI (mine say @sbi6, but they can have different numbers after them). The upvote will be small to nil at first, esp. with crypto so far down right now, but once you collect enough SBI, you will start seeing higher and higher upvotes from them. For life. I'm not sure, but you may have to also follow them (@steembasicincome). I don't think so, but maybe, I'll look into it for you.
You do not have to follow them, but your upvotes will grow faster if you upvote the regular updates (daily contest list, etc.).

Thank you for the heads up @marvyinnovation! I did check my wallet and the 3 Steem was sent to @steembasicincome in your name, so you should start receiving upvotes from them on your posts. There is no need to follow them, as far as I can tell. The upvote weight will probably be negligible at first, but there are many many contests on Steemit that offer SBI as a reward, so if you like to participate in contests you'll almost certainly build up more shares over time, whether or not you participate in Pick-a-Prompt. And when Steem value rises, you will see an increase in the SBI vote value on your posts regardless. First of all, please pardon me because I don't know the procedure at all. I thought SBI is similar to delegation and as soon i receive it, i thought my RC will increase.
NOW I UNDERSTOOD THE SBI CONCEPT AND SORRY FOR CAUSING YOU TROUBLE BY SAYING SO.
