@sunravelme's prompt got me thinking, which is dangerous...
But it did produce an interesting song :)

HALF HOUR SONGWRITE CHALLENGE is an ongoing daily Dtube vlog. Each day I challenge myself to write a song in 30 minutes, using a one word prompt provided by viewer suggestion through the PICK-A-PROMPT contest, or by @mariannewest's daily freewrite on the Steem blockchain.
On Sunday I'll be finishing one song from this week's Half Hour Songwrite Challenge, and posting the completed version. But on SATURDAY you, the viewers, get to decide which one! Saturday's video will feature numbered clips of each of the song fragments composed this week, and you get to vote for the one you'd most like to see made into a finished song. So be sure to tune in on Saturday and vote!

That turned out great! Chasing shadows was basically a line of poetry that popped into my head but didn’t fit into any of the pieces I was working on. My sweetest dreams always seem to be of loved ones who have passed on and come to visit, but we rarely interact, I always seem to be chasing after them instead- but isn’t that what is cool about poetry, that we could interpret it multiple ways and come up with such different ideas?
Love it! Wish you’d add the lyrics to the songs to your posts- I like to re-read them after hearing you play. I like the break in your voice on this one- it was a nice contrast to the upbeat melody.

Yes, that's what the poem of yours I read awhile back was about, and it was beautiful. Which is, I think, part of why my brain wanted to take a different tack. Interestingly, the next day I reconnected with an old friend who has discovered, since we last spoke, that she has Asperger's!
I know, I really should start posting the lyrics again... it's usually so late by the time these are done that I get lazy. The songwrite itself only takes 1/2 hour, but then there's practicing and performing it, doing the talky bits, editing the video, bouncing it down, uploading it to Dtube... it takes awhile. But I'm grateful for the feedback bc I didn't know if that was something people would miss or not. I'll try to start putting them in again.
