Sugar is stronger than cocaine🍭#114video

Everyone knows that sugar and sugar-containing products are addictive. Sugar, namely glucose for our body – a source of energy, which is why we are sensitive to sweet.
After all, where the sweetness - there should be energy. It turns out that evolutionarily people are predisposed to sweets.
But how strong is our dependence on sweets?

Research scientists prove that sugar has an effect on our brain, similar to the action of cocaine – activated the same areas of the brain that react to cocaine use.

Refined sugar and opioid drugs cause the same response from the brain reward system – dopamine and other neuropeptides are released. We get used to and our dose increases – so is the dependence on drugs and sugar.

Indirectly, the similarity between dependence on sugar and cocaine can be seen by the example of the abolition of the use of both substances.

Experiments on rats have shown that their dependence on sugar exceeded even cocaine dependence – 94% of rats preferred sugar to cocaine when choosing.

When a person refuses sugar, he begins a real drug withdrawal – depression, behavioral disorders, irritability, sudden mood changes, etc.

But is it possible to compare the effects of sugar and cocaine, because cocaine is a drug? Yes, because sugar also kills us: consuming sweet, often we can not stop at the extent that the body needs for energy. We eat too much sweet. This leads to problems with teeth, diabetes, heart disease and blood vessels.

The modern way of nutrition constantly stimulates us with sugar in different forms. We get super pleasure from sweets, because in previous periods of human life sweet was not enough, and our receptors are configured to distinguish the sweet taste even in the smallest concentrations.

But sugar suppresses our mechanisms of self-control, and now we eat the next piece of cake and drink again Coca-Cola! And our dependence is growing.

If you ever watched alcoholic or narcotic withdrawal, then you know that this addiction. The same thing will happen to you if you cancel the sweet in the diet. Life will become dreary and meaningless.

What is important is that the constant use of sweets leads to changes in the brain similar changes when taking drugs like morphine, nicotine and cocaine. Also, excessive love of sweets stimulates the tendency to alcohol.

Over time, there is an adaptation to the sweet and you need more and more sweet to get back to the original pleasure – all as with drugs! This is a vicious circle, because the more the dose, the less sensitive we become to sugar, and all this is repeated.

For clarity, you can watch this short informative TED video about how sugar affects us:

Today I leave you to think about this information and decide for yourself whether you need as much sugar as you eat (because it is not only in cakes and soda, but also in tomato paste, yogurt, etc.).
And do you want to do something for your health to get rid of this addiction, because dependence on sweets is the same dependence as on alcohol, drugs and nicotine. It's addiction that leads to deceases and death.

(Golos.io).

Спасибо) Сейчас гляну.

I know something about that :p sugar is very addictive

Hehe)!
Yes.

what's more addictive cocaine or sugar you'd think the sweet stuff found in cakes breads sodas and chocolate would be easier to give up than a substance so dangerously addictive that it's illegal right well you might be surprised in 2007 researchers at the University of Bordeaux conducted a study where they equipped rat cages with two levers one lever gave the rats an intravenous hit of cocaine the other gave them 20 seconds to drink sugar water before beginning the tests rats were allowed researchers gradually increased the cocaine dose when comparing the brains of food addicts to cocaine addicts side-by-side the similarities are undeniable MRI scans of the brains activity reveal a massive but consuming them releases the same feel-good chemicals in the brain like dopamine and endorphins the problem however is that it takes more and more of the stimulus to get the same amount of pleasure but your cravings actually increase craving makes sense from an evolutionary perspective if we hunted down a delicious wild boar and feasted upon its succulent flesh we would get pleasure from eating it but if the cravings for that sweet sweet boar meat never returned we die of hunger in our modern world you're much more likely to have too much of something than too little this cave man's brain told him to crave sugar for a good reason food was scarce in prehistoric times and anything high in calories like sugar or fat was very rewarding to the caveman brain in a world where calories were harder to come across but it doesn't make sense now these days sugar and refined carbohydrates which are basically the same thing are in everything like bread ready meals pasta sauces sodas and of course candy the food climate changed but our brains didn't we're designed to crave high-calorie foods but the problem is they're everywhere can you imagine the problems if cocaine was this accessible this constant exposure to high calorie high sugar foods messes with our hormones unlike the cavemen whose eating schedule was one of feast or famine we are allowed to constantly graze which puts our hormones out of whack we produce more insulin which causes food to be stored in our fat cells furthermore when we are constantly eating we never give our body a chance to get in a fat-burning state making us fat so what can you do to cut down on sugar the most important thing is to cut down on processed foods most processed foods contain high amounts of sugar as it's the easiest and cheapest way to mass-produce something that doesn't taste like cardboard what counts as processed food if it has a list of ingredients its processed real foods don't have ingredients they are the ingredients so try to eat like the caveman if you need a snack nuts are very healthy and if you still can't kick the sweet tooth then fruit should do the trick but doesn't fruit contain sugar yes but fruit has natural fiber which prevents the sugar from being metabolized too quickly and messing around with your hormones which is why sugar is so unhealthy in the first place not to mention the calories of course if you're feeling really brave you

You're right, @alikhan6! I've read about it too.

@behelen, thanks to what you said, really that's it 100% true! Do you think blockchain can move techs forward?

Thanks!
Yes, I think so)

I like my cocaine with sugar on top

And this is understandable).

This is generalization.
You don't have to compare these things, you know the difference. :)

——

I am not offended by such comments).

You described an understandable mechanism.

Of course, in my video I described only one aspect - mainly that sugar stimulates the same areas of the brain as cocaine.
About donuts I also have something to say)). But some other time.

Greetings, dear sweetheart Elena

Funny you talk in addiction, because, today I made a video about it, but, a video about the music clip "addicted to love". Cool.

Most things we experience and feel good taste can cause addiction. The sugar, besides being delicious, has a lot of carbohydrate, which gives a wax sensation of relaxation and diminishes the anxiety of those who consume it. This causes a huge addiction.

However, we will always see in the supermarket, because it is something within the law, because, it does not modify the behavior of people, but, it damages people who consume with high frequency and high quantity.

Thank you and good night!

Sugar changes people's behavior. When we eat something sweet, our mood improves. Conversely, if we suddenly refuse sweets, we become irritable.
Many people do not connect these things with each other, but if you watch, it can be seen.

Have a wonderful day!

yes, but, dont have suggar, like you said, make people irritable. With sugar, person do not have behavior that can hurt someone....

@behelen, you are going to persuade me to stop to consume sugar :)

Yes, and I want to convince myself to stop eating it)))).
