Simply stop buying them!

Most say they need DLC for research and stuff but this is a lie guys. Game production cost already includes research.
All above production cost is pure profit above of their regular paycheck.
Many AAA studios do have passive income due to selling their engine percentbased to the public (Unreal Engine / Unity for example), these income alone is most of the time enoth to maintain research.
