The Laws That The US Passes, Do They Even Read Them???

in #dtube7 years ago

President Trump has signed a few laws and I wonder do Congress, The Senate and President Trump actually read these Laws? These are massive and I am currently reading The new Tax plan and its like they write these laws in hieroglyphics, it's all lawyer talk. I pretty much think that none of them or very very little read anything of it and as long as they have their portion pass the rest doesn't matter. These books/Laws would take months to understand and absorb. So what are your thoughts about all these laws that are passed and if they read them?

Check these images and do you think its possible?

the creation of new laws is a tedious process in which someone's idea of how we all should live our lives come to fruition. Laws are rarely created to serve who they are supposed to serve but to force the people to obey rules that only benefit a specific group.

agreed, force ppl into giving up more rights and then the gov. subsidizes it and the ppl think they get it for free. They need to make a law saying the entire law can not be or exceed 20 pages and must be fully read aloud on national TV about what the bill is and what it does. this would help out so much. bills today have so much legal jargon that ppl wouldn't or couldn't understand it nor do the ppl passing it.

I always wondered that, I think they don't just small sections that apply directly to them

No, they don't read them.

They have a staff that reads some of it. But most legislation is written by specialized organizations, which are paid by private interest groups. They offer pre-written legal language and the legislative staff reviews and edits it.

Then the Senator or Congressman brings it to a committee, and their staffs (both Dem and Rep) go over it again. Then it goes before the full body and their staffs review it.

In the end, many people have read many parts of it, but no one really knows all the details. This is how the lobbyist industry earns its money.

Yes agreed! They make it so complicated that normal average Joe couldn't understand it and and make it so long that no one has the time to go through it and see all the special interest groups making a killing off of it.
