Militarization of the police is disgusting!
When you build up a military, there is mission creep. Armies must be utilized or they wither and die. Sometimes, that mission creep extends into civilian life. This is the case here.

This crap is incredible. To be fair, the overwhelming majority of police departments that have that military hardware only allot it to SWAT. I've had many conversations with law enforcement officers that the militarization bothers me. Most cops are not militarized, but it doesn't take most cops to accidentally kill someone innocent; it only takes one tough guy with something to prove.

The militarization of police is a direct result of U.S. foreign policy. They need something to do with all of the surplus military equipment. Why not use it against their own citizens?
They've got the same shit up here in Canada but not yet for use on the actual street, just for 'bustin drug dealers, armed conflicts and hostage situations etc".
