Andys adventure in World of Warcraft [1]

An introduction

I guess I should make a short introduction to my "wow career". I've been playing wow for around 11-12 years. So during my time I've tried pretty much everything the game can give. Both casually and at somewhat more serious levels. I've played every class the game offers, but at the moment I enjoy my paladin, more specific holy paladin, the most. A holy paladins main role is to heal and support the rest of your team, wether it being you and one other person or you and 39 other people.

So what exactly is happening?

What the video is showing is me and four other persons, three DPS (damage dealers), a tank (the guy taking the worst of the beating) and me, the healer. We're competing against a timer to finish a dungeon called The Arcway, more specific Arcway 15+, before the timer runs out - I'll get in to that later.

First of all, the game is as stated in the title, World of Warcraft. The expansion that is currently the latest release is called "Legion" and was released in 2016. Legion brought a bunch of new stuff to the game that a lot of people enjoy, everything from artifact weapons, legendaries, new raids and new dungeons. What it also brought, was a optional tuning of the dungeons we play, called mythic plus (M+).

To understand how M+ works, we got to take a step back, and look at the dungeons that the game offers. The dungeons players may engage, besides the raids, have three basic difficulties, normal, heroic and mythic, where mythic is the hardest of the three before the tuning happens. When you enter a mythic dungeon for the first time, and finishes it, you will be rewarded with a keystone. This keystone is what tunes the dungeons. The keystone adds two major things to the dungeons; it increases the damage and health of the creatures and bosses in the dungeon and it adds up to three different affixes, depenting on what level the keystone is (for example our keystone in the video is an Arcway 16).

The first key you get is a level 2 mythic keystone, which means that the damage and health of the creatures in the given dungeon is increased by 10%. This scales up as shown in the picture below.

(In theory the levels of the keystone continues forever, but obviously it gets impossible at some point)

You would think that the damage and health increase would be enough of a challenge, which it is, but to make it even more fun three affixes are added on top, that also benefits the creatures and bosses in the dungeon. These affixes changes every week to something new. This week we are facing Bursting, Skittish and Tyrannical:

Bursting:

When slain, non-boss enemies explode, causing all players to suffer 10% of their maximum health in damage over 4 seconds. (5% every 2 seconds) This effect stacks.

Skittish:

Tanks generate 75% less threat.

Tyrannical:

Bosses have more health and deal 15% more damage.

In total there is 13 different affixes. I will explain the others as we engage them. If you want to read more about the affixes I'll recommend you checking out this website mythicpl.

Alright, enough talking - lets get to the gaming! Hope you enjoyed the video, and if you have any questions feel free to post them in the comments below!

/Andy
