Psych Ward Funeral
Mournful salute and reverence once more, dear Taphophiliacs! Here is the second track from Taphophilia's 2010 EP, "Thanateros". I originally composed it on the alto flute, several years ago, then decided to use the melody again in producing this eerie opus. In homage to Van der Graaf Generator, one of my favorite bands, I decided to add a synthetic saxophone part to the keyboards. The drums I used were programmed from scratch, using Reason's "Redrum" drum machine. Overall, I think the track has some kind of "Nightmare before Christmas" feel to it, don't you, boys and girls? ;) Enjoy! What a delightable atmosphere-creating composition! Definitely, the "awful Christmas" touch emerges from second 35 and beyond, haha.
I'm marveled you're a fan of Van der Graaf Generator, I had ended thinking nobody remembered those 70's bands. Have you listened to that Argentinian combo, "LAM", which released a song 3 days ago on Musicoin? It's a sound odissey :-p
Thank you, I am pleased to hear you enjoyed it! Van der Graaf Generator is indeed a great band and sadly, not a lot of people know them. Did you know they were still releasing new albums after they reunited in 2006? I had not heard of "LAM" before, I will definitely look them up. See you on the Musicoin forum... ;)
