This is the first of many shows that I'll be doing with @JacobTs. Today's starts off with some questions about trend lines he uses to analyze crypto charts, followed up with how we're looking to use Smart Media Tokens (SMT's) to build and enhance the Improv and LGBT+ communities.

When start talking about SMT's and how a group can make use of them, I start by asking "What behaviors are you looking to positively reinforce (i.e. see people start or continue doing.) For the Improv community this leads to things like being a member of the audience at shows, people attending practices, classes, rewarding teachers/coaches...and the list goes on. Then these @ImprovCoin's could be redeemed to pay for classes, rent stage time, merchandise or anything else the community already has a charge for.
When we get into how a SMT could be used for the LGBT+ community, you'll hear how I don't currently like my answer with it just being something for people already on Steemit. I can already upvote posts, delegate SP, send tips, etc on Steemit itself...but I'm wanting this token to be something more useful to effect offline life whether rewarding those willing to share their experiences outside Steemit. There are so many LGBT+ people who have been kicked out of their homes, disowned, unable to find work, in the aftermath of traumatic experiences...the list goes on. I want to find a way to help in these 'boots on the ground' areas...not just upvote posts. I'm looking forward to meeting some people that @JacobTs met this last week that work with a local LGBT+ non-profit and see what ideas we can come up with. I'll definitely keep you posted once I'm able to meet with them as well as I'd love to hear any ideas you all might have.

I definitely will! We've got a while before the SMT's actually launch, but I'd love to have things ready to go when they do.
I'll make sure to be giving updates and see how we can get others involved as things get together. A bit outside this...I'm looking to find a time to have more of a LGBT+ hangout discussion with other Steemians pretty soon (now that I'm back from my 'burn out' break)...if you'd be interested in something like that. :)
Good thing you are writing under the LGBT tag, cryptos are meant to give power to the help, and what is the LGBT community if not people, even though some assholes don't accept that...

Exactly! I know the monetary and non-monetary hardships of many in the LGBT+ community and would love to be able to see both Steemit and these potential SMT's try to help where possible.
I've just started getting to spend time in the chat again too...had to take a couple week break after burning out a bit (both from online stuff and real life.) Yay for breaks! lol
Yeah, i hope i don't burn out that hard, right now trying to balance college (i'm a vet student), steemit, 6 different chats i'm in, being social, gym and spending some time for myself i end up with 0 hours of the day left

Yeah, I get what you mean. When you can already upvote, delegate, etc... on steemit, the idea of SMT's being something more than that and which could affect someone offline sounds good!
I've found it interesting that I had a rather easy time putting ideas together for some other industries/communities/etc on how to put the SMT's to use, but that I've been struggling more when trying to apply it to the LGBT+ community. Luckily, I at least know enough that I don't have great answers on this and hope to hear some ideas from others here on Steemit as well as the non-profit in town that I should be able to get a meeting with soon.
So interesting that Steemit can help the world in so many ways :). Keep up the LGBT exposure !
Hi @sykochica, I am having some serious difficulty getting DSound to work :( Even tried downloading from IPFS... nope. Goes for a couple of seconds and fails every time. Is there another place this is hosted? A torrent link maybe?
They really need to get these issues fixed. I want to consume this wonderful content everyone is creating but I can't.

I'm not a social worker myself, but I have been a part of the community for a long while...seeing things first hand.
I'm not quite sure I understand what you're meaning about "Sexual Transformation" though. It might just be something we disagree on in that I don't have a problem with people that are transgender...especially being one myself. Though there are definitely mental hardships that trans people (really the whole LGBT+ community..and honestly all people in general) have to deal with, get through, etc.
