Hiding Verses Podcast: Why I Am Crying
Every week I receive new writing in my inbox from students who push themselves to accept and release with honesty, integrity and compassion. This week, I received words that wrote so close to my own experience I can't help but be moved. And so I snuck in this mostly whispered podcast tonight to tell you why I'm crying, and to ask you a question.

Shawna what a lovely camming voice, I’d love to have you as my mentor. I have always been scared of writing due to my upbringing and always being told I’m stupid. When I tried to write through my issues previously, I just got more depressed. If my mother had even just once been able to except a little responsibility, maybe would still have some sort of relationship. You truly are amazing for the support you give.
Art is speaking to people, it is showing people what truth is and how better we can be. When a writer can honestly come out, without fear or shyness, with openness to the world, saying this is a story, my story and I want you to have it, to take it home, to sit with it and let it slide between your ribs, then the writer has achieved art. For writing that comes from deep within, no matter the grammatical errors, is always beautiful.
This is an absolutely gorgeous response. I agree.
Disclosing what is inside you leads to satisfaction
Hi Shawnamawna - I just tried to listen to this as promised and I cannot figure it out. I logged into DSound and pressed play but nothing happened. Tried the other link too. Any tips?
