Parasites Lost Theme
The main thematic material of a "tone poem" of sorts, composed in 2007, copyrighted and ASCAP registered. The composer more or less followed traditional counterpoint rules for three parts, in a modal context. This arrangement is for Sopranino, Soprano, and Alto recorders, along with miscellaneous backing instruments on the repeat, though the original piece is of course much longer, written for a larger group of instruments and musicians.
Scientific technical note: The cantus firmus is in the highest voice, the remaining parts below. Interestingly, the CF is in three sections, of 13-, 8-, and 13-bars respectively, adding up to a total of 34-bars - based deliberatly on a Fibonacci number series.
The composer Mark Priest grants permission for non-commercial public performance of this track, on condition that no modifications are made, and that full composer credit is included along with the performance (in print, verbally, and onscreen where applicable). #classical-music
