Hello Out There!

Time to open the doors to perception and space out. Listen at your own risk as this could evoke out of body experiences as the sound waves warp space time. For full effect, grab your headphones and space helmet.

Ok, maybe some of that is an exaggeration, but this stuff can really take you somewhere. I'm thinking of laying down a beat on top of this at some point, but to keep with the aesthetic of these ambient sessions, I am keeping them as minimalist as possible.

For this session (and for all), I tried doing something a little different. This time I incorporated my Korg Minilogue Analogue Synthesizer as the backdrop for my guitar. I run it through the same pedals I run my guitar through, and that layer of reverb on both instruments is pretty fat if I say so myself! The little click you hear every now and then is an effect I accidentally achieved when I knocked on my guitar's body. I added some ping pong delay to that so it bounces around your head.

I have also been toying around with some different automating techniques in Ableton. In the beginning and end I have the delay wet af and I also found out how to alter the timing so it starts and ends at a slower tempo. The combination of increasing then decreasing the delay effects while speeding the song back up had some pretty psychedelic effects, dude!! I will explore this further on future installments.
