Knowing Venezuelan traditional-popular music. Today's song: The boy of the Ávila

in #dsound6 years ago

We all seek and love with great fervor the Venezuela that awakened, in the past, the sincere passion of its people, that Venezuela that adorned its nights with the fresh muse of the serenades, which was propitious for the family invitation. That which claims, today, the celebration of the holiday season and all possible love so that the spiritual influence of yesteryear can return to it. Despite all the serious economic situation we are experiencing, the Venezuelan cultural being continues to motivate the re-encounter with our devotional and festive traditions. In this case, it is about sharing charms and dreams, through music and singing, in a gesture of solidarity with our people and with our country. For all this, it is a pleasure for me to present, in this opportunity, today's song "El Niño del Ávila" (The boy of the Ávila).

"El Niño del Ávila" is an Aguinaldo with a rhythmic texture of Venezuelan merengue. The author of this beautiful song is Simón Díaz and, in this opportunity, it is interpreted, in its original version by the same Simón Díaz accompanied by the Parranda Group of the Orfeón Central University of Venezuela (UCV) directed by Raúl Delgado Estévez and the arrangement musical was made by Miguel Delgado Estévez and Rafael Salazar. This Aguinaldo was composed in November 1991 during a working lunch between the composer Simón Díaz, the Musicologist and researcher Rafael Salazar and myself. Later, "El Niño del Ávila" becomes part of the Christmas Album of the Christmas Proclamation Caraqueña (1992), a work that was sponsored by the Mayor of Caracas.

The boy of the Ávila

Chorus
Del Ávila comes a little boy
Well packed with kindness
To the caraqueños he brings them from the sierra
The serene breeze of Christmas
The serene breeze of Christmas
I
The little boy goes down
From Galipán
It comes with its flowers
And its thousand colors
For gifts
That come and go (bis)
Chorus
II
The burning cross
Shines much more
And light the way
Where the Child goes
With their bonuses
At Christmas (bis)
Chorus
III
From the highest peak
From the mountains
With four and maracas
Go down to Caracas
He comes with his mother
The Virgin Mary (bis)
Chorus
IV
They go by Sabas Nieves
The walkers
And they find the Child
That with a thousand affections
It comes giving away
Your tender loves
Chorus
V
With high hands
And with devotion
We are asking you
Let him come smiling
And that in his hands
Bring us the proclamation

Chorus
