A Song about Saving your Home
Years ago I had a conversation with a good friend about what we'd do if we were in a life-or-death situation. It's hard to know exactly how I'd respond, but I'd like to think that I would go down fighting at least, and defending those in need. This song came from that conversation, and was written from the perspective of someone desperately trying to defend his home in time of war.
This recording really features the musicality of the Miller Road Band, who also happen to be my talented nephews and nieces. The cacophonous sound of the violin in this especially stands out, and because the violinist is classically-trained, it went against everything she was taught to create this kind of discord, but I'm really glad she did because it really captures the emotion of fighting to the end.
Once again, thank you Steemians, for your support and for this @DSound platform to share new songs!

Lyrics:
Those devils are comin’ with the wind
Those devils are comin' with the wind
They’ve come to plunder, come to sin
Those devils are comin' with the wind
You women go underground
You women go underground
And pull that trigger if you are found
You women go underground
I may be going down but I’m taking more
I may be going down but I’m taking more
Just pray you're not the first to come through my door
I may be going down but I’m taking more
So you devils come in after me
You devils come in after me
Where you’ll meet your destiny
You devils come in after me
When that dirge rolls across the land
When that dirge rolls across the land
At least they’ll sing that I died a man
When that dirge rolls across the land

The “you women” stanza always makes me picture the women of Rohan hiding out in the caves beneath Helm’s Deep, but with shotguns. It’s a chaotic picture.
I'm so glad you wrote this. Now it's what I will always picture as well!
That's exactly what I've always pictured with that lyric...
Sounds like a consensus to me.
Definitely love the chaos in this song. Fits the lyrics so well!

What a beautiful letter, I liked a lot and good is how you say when we are in a quote of life or death is when we show that instinct of survival or protection to others without even realizing it, is something automatic
Yes, I sure hope so!
