illucid rush
turned out into neon streets:
...
discord-drops
pattering softly down.
..
willful voices
murmur through the walls;
.
a television—
telling its mournful tale.

Somehow this recording was never included in Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" although it would have made a great addition.

I would give it the title "Time 2"

Still I am left so curious about what tale the television was telling---
What mournful tale did it tell, will you tell?

I love Pink Floyd. I discovered Dark Side of the Moon when I was 16. That must have been 2006, and it felt just as relevant as it must have when it came out.

I'm not sure what the TV had to say, but those producers sure like low-frequency bass booms to amp up the drama. :-)

Spectacular images arising from the curiosity that underlies everything that attracts the artist's eye, whisper enlightening meanings that allow the mind to travel:

illucid rush
turned out into neon streets

However, the crude reality always intervenes by cutting the flight, showing a piece of the history of the moment:

a television—
telling its mournful tale

In the middle of the poem is installed the incongruence of both worlds as a dissonant note, something that does not agree, something that drips: time stopped in an instant that in reality is indeterminate, because the voices outside shake the dream:

discord-drops
pattering softly down.
..
willful voices
murmur through the walls

@d-pend,

Hard to know what to say on this one, Dan, other than ... motels.

Quill

And for reasons of my odd mind, Macbeth's famous words immediately popped into my head after reading the last line of your verse.

a television—
telling its mournful tale.

Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

Shakespeare was great at capturing the feeling of meaningless, especially in Macbeth. Good to hear from you @dbooster!

Strange moments in reality.

Life only seems normal when you're not looking so hard. Or, if you're intentionally looking the other way :-D

it is awesome what yo have created

Thank you my friend :-)

Audio is great. love the subtle echo. television in background part of all modern narratives

Thanks for the feedback! I enjoy playing around with reverb, ring mod, delay, panning, etc. That ubiquitous background hum of the TV haunts me when I'm staying in residences that haven't found it wise to rip it off the wall. :'-D

Good poetry like it .

Thank you for being here for me, so I can be here for you.
Enjoy your day and stay creative!
Botty loves you. <3
