"Focus On Your Breathing" was built by looping and pitch-shifting the delay tail from "...and the flowers in your hair". I was going for a Steve-Reich-esque minimalist meditation track to separate the brighter first half of the record from the darker second half. If I ever press this record to vinyl, this track will fade out to the end of Side 1 and fade back in on Side 2."Focus On Your Breathing" proceeds directly out of the previous song, and leads right into the next one, "Get oveR".
This track is heavily inspired by the experimental minimalism of Steve Reich, particularly his delay-looping technique which produced pieces including “Come Out”:
