Droning and droning and droning! That's basically what we're doing. :)
Today I tried not to improvise so much (didn't succeed in doing so, hah), but just hold different patterns on each limbs and switch between subdivisions here and there (especially kick and hi-hat).
Also tried to keep a grouping of three 16note hits on the rim constant.
The possibilities of the groove are absolutely endless here, because of the 3 over 4 poly-rhythm.
I really like where this is going, and I'm feeling a bit more relaxed and more secure about the beat.
Next week, we're gonna start doing the arrangement. I think it's going to be really brutal!
The song, and the lyrics are there, we're (still) debating melodies and harmonic changes,
but for now I feel like we could just drone and drone and drone this song forever :).
I like this track, it is quite hypnotic, very similar to minimalistic dance music but with instruments, how cool!
