Dear friends

after my last post, i spent all week to renforce my troop following the suggestions of my @steem-bounty friends @pifc and @knircky.
The reason why it was that i was bullished by some whales which are near to the first 100 positions on the leaderboard, so instead to growing my production, i was busy into make a really scaring and costly troop for who want attack me.
I started to make some advertise with my friends and yesterday i got the first referral.
My friend asked me how this game work and he was really amazed in order to use reverse strategy of mine, starting immediately to grown the troop and attack others to get their productions, expecially in the low level users.
But something incredible happens!

He discover that now you cannot anymore see the condition of your target, so you have to do attack in the dark???
In my opinion i agree with my friend, this is a BULL SHIT change, what do you think my friends?

Not a fan of recent change. Things don't ave to go back to old ways. We can have something like a powerup where users ca peak 3 opponents pe day. If they want more the'll have to send 1 unit. We could also have a cheaper unit for scouting.

I'm totally onboard with separate scouting units that are very cheap.

Oh yeah, it's an interesting game, I've also been harassed by some whales and I've had to buy some battle units, we see that the balance in the game and the rewards have been changing over time, there is a whole economy to study in the game in relation to prices and returns.

I don't like the change, either.

What other players have been doing as a workaround, is to attack players using just 1 Rowdy first. The Rowdy will act as a scout. Obviously, he will probably die and lose the attack, but that's OK. He's cheap enough (costs 600 Weapons) that it wouldn't cost much to sacrifice him. After the attack, the system will show you the results of the battle and you can see what kind of defense the other player has and how much resources you can steal from him. Depending on the results of the first attack, you can decide whether you want to attack again, for real this time. It's an extra step, but it's the only way to check at the moment.

On the bright side, Drugwars is still in early development, so if enough people complain about this change in their Discord channel, they might decide to scrap it or at least make improvements. They've already done this before. I just can't remember what feature it was that they implemented then removed after players complained about it enough. So, it's possible that this recent change won't be permanent, either.

Personally, I like @d-zero's suggestion of keeping a player's information hidden, while at the same time giving all players 3 free peaks every day (or maybe 5 peaks would be better) and adding a cheap unit to act as a scout. That's the best scenario for me because, on one hand, I don't want to advertise what resources and defense units I have--I'm not the attacking type of player, after all. But, I understand that others will need that information to play the game properly, so the balance would be to allow them to peak at other player's information, but for a small price.

The game is designed to get people to invest in it and that isn't really a bad thing per say, it is just an arbitrary way to make transactions and transfer steem between accounts in a fun and interactive way. If you're playing the game to earn some sort of income you're going to be disappointed if you're playing for fun its good fun just like the magic dice you need to know your limits

After their first update - which was supposed to turn the ponzi into a non-ponzi, every decision they took has made the game less attractive. If it can be considered to be a game at all... in my opinion, it is still a ponzi in which the players who have heavily invested are paying for the smaller accounts, and we'll never see their investment back. It's just a matter of time before the incoming money dries up, and payout will stop.

I think its a win win for all of us since our enemies will be hesitant to attack us if they dont know what types of troops we have and the amount as well

Not at all bullshit IMO. If you already played such strategy games before (ex: Travian), than you might know that knowing the enemy's troops isn't something obvious. I believe that this change is making the game more difficult and therefore more interesting.
